RECYCLING/TRASH

Trash is picked up on Tuesday of everyweek

Recycling is picked up on Friday of everyweek (as of early July, Metro is only picking up recycling every 2 weeks, plan accordingly)i.e. July 30, August 13 & 27....

During Holiday weeks this service maybe delayed by a day

Where to recycle plastic bags, bubble wrap, cereal liners, food wrap....

Rules for recycling:

All recycling needs to be lose, so no bagged recyclables

Plastic shopping bags can only be recycled at a local grocery store like Kroger

We do not Recycle glass at this time at Salem Square, so all glass recyclables can be dropped off at a Louisville Metro recycling spot like the one at the Mary T. Meagher parking lot

All boxes need to be broken down or they will end up in the landfill

All recyclables needs to be cleaned out

What we can recycle here:

Broken-down/Disassembled/Flattened cardboard/boxes (i.e. Amazon, Chewy, appliance boxes)

Tin Cans, milk jugs containers, cleaned out plastic food/goods containers,

What can be recycled at other places and where:

Plastic shopping bags, food bags, plastic liners in cereal type boxes, bread bags.....all these need to be recycled at Kroger

Glass bottles-Mary T. Meagher or another metro-recycling site

WHAT ABOUT STYROFOAM?

Although used Styrofoam food containers are NOT recyclable in our region, Foam Fabricators accepts non-food contaminated Styrofoam for recycling.

Guidelines:

MUST be clean
Free of tape, stickers, or labels
May NOT have been used for food
